Update to our community from the PST leadership.
The annual PST membership meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, starting at 6:30 pm at the Fenton Township offices (12060 Mantawauka Drive).
The meeting agenda will be different from previous years. Officer elections will be conducted as we have had a significant change in our leadership positions which many are currently in an acting capacity. If you want to run for a position, please let us know or attend the meeting. After we complete the leadership voting, we will listen to our members that want to host and manage a PST activity in 2025. The objectives for this change are to improve the engagement level of our PST members, reduce the amount of time / effort required historically from a few people, bring new ideas that the community/specific demographic wants to see and have more events/activities than we have in the past. So, think about what you want to see in, in 2025. Maybe hosting an event with other members. Bring your ideas and thoughts to the meeting. Would like to publicize our 2025 events soon after the annual meeting in October 2024.
In earlier posts, we have indicated the PST association was going to continue to evolve to better meet the needs of our membership. To that mission, we are taking the following steps. First, we will have 3 non-PST leadership members monitor our webpage rather than PST leaders. This change will include admitting/declining new members per our current rules, monitoring comments to eliminate individuals selling products or services and ensuring abusive language is not tolerated. We hope to announce the names of the 3 individuals very soon.
We will be publishing/pinning our 2024 income statements to the PST webpage for everyone's review. Questions on where our dues/activities/merchandise monies are being spent will be clear to all members.
A survey will be published shortly that asks our members how we have done in the past and what changes you want to see. Please take the time to fill out the survey over the next few days. It will only take a few minutes.
Our annual lake biologist report on the health of our chain of lakes will be available for review during our annual meeting on October 23.
Finally, we intend to formalize activities that are critical to our lake that in the past, we have scrambled to address due to availability of people. We will be looking for individuals that do not want to commit to fulltime participation but would be willing to help in a pinch. Having a callout of individuals, willing to address downed trees/floating lake hazards when it happens. Think of it as a callout tree.
