PSLA at Fowler High School is proud to honor the induction of seven exceptional individuals and one legendary team into the prestigious Wall of Distinction, Class of 2025. The celebration will take place at halftime of the Homecoming Football game on Friday, September 26, 2025, around 6:45 pm, at the PSLA at Fowler Football Stadium.
This year’s inductees represent a remarkable legacy of athletic achievement, educational impact, and community leadership.
• 1992 Boys Basketball Team – Undefeated 27–0 season; New York State Class B State Public School & Federation Champions. A golden chapter in Fowler’s sports history.
• April Wertheim – Educator, Coach, Administrator – Longtime Physical Education teacher; coach of soccer, basketball, and softball; current District Athletic Administrator shaping future generations.
• Kareeb Howard (‘91) – Two-sport athlete in gymnastics and wrestling; 1991 State Wrestling Champion at 138 lbs; Empire State Games multi-medalist.
• Ursula (Schotanus) O’Shaughnessy (‘91) – Soccer goalie with 25 saves/game and an epic 45-save match; Softball standout and OHSL Metro League Player of the Year.
• Syeisha Byrd (‘98) – Commissioner, Syracuse Parks & Youth Programs; fierce advocate for families, youth development, and community revitalization.
• Alan “Al” Kimmey – Teacher & Timeless Supporter – Beloved math teacher and institutional scorer’s table official. His legacy lives in every whistle and clock tick.
• Michael Jamison (‘91) – Wrestling force: 1991 State Champion, Canadian Greco Roman National Champion (1990), 4x Gold Medalist at the Empire State Games.
