About this Event
Apple and pear trees should be pruned in winter to maintain a healthy shape and size and to ensure they will fruit plentifully for future decades.
We will teach you the theory and practice of winter fruit tree pruning, and together we will help to maintain the fruit trees at Redcliffe Community Orchard.
If you have them, please bring along a sharp pair of secateurs, loppers, a pruning saw and a pair of rubber grip gardening gloves. Tools and gloves will be provided if you don’t have your own.
You may also want to bring a hot drink in a flask as we'll be out in the cold.
Participants will each receive a copy of Chloe Ward's excellent pruning guide "for real people with imperfect trees".
The orchard is accessible from the end of Redcliffe Avenue or Devonshire Street (between 190 & 192).
Please call us on 0794 22 66 888 if you have trouble finding the orchard.
