Greetings from… Dania Beach!

Boasting a rich history that exudes a vibrant presence, Dania Beach thrives as a small town coastal community & Broward County's first city with the promising future as the gateway to the sea. Known for its unique shops, pristine beaches & waterways, and the iconic Dania Beach Pier, to the historic last example of an undeveloped coastal ecosystem in Broward: Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, named for Civil Rights Movement leaders who led “wade-in” protests to desegregate South Florida beaches in the 1950s and 1960s.

Our potluck-style Picnic in the Park is FREE to attend and everyone is welcomed! Please make sure to bring an outdoor-friendly dish or side to share (homemade always preferred) and a lawn chair/blanket to sit on as we will be outside on the grass. Drinks are BYOB (Wine, beer & seltzers are ok, no hard liquor or glass allowed please). proud society will provide some lite bites to start off with and a special Coming Out Day hunch punch as well! State Park Parking is $6 per vehicle.

For Outdoor Adventure, there will be 2 different activities to choose from: Barrier Nature Trail by land (free) or Whiskey Creek by water (rental charge). Canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard rentals are available at the Whiskey Creek Hideout, the park’s concessionaire ONLY on a first-come, first served basis ($30-$40 for 1-hour min rentals available until 6:00 PM). Please make sure to wear comfortable clothing, bring sunscreen & bug spray, & carry bottled water.
