Overview
Get ready for a week of creativity, hands-on learning, and fun with the Prototype 5 Summer Series at Her Home Design Academy! This exciting program is designed for kids ages 10-12 who are ready to dive into the world of design, construction, and creativity. Over the course of one week, students will use their imagination and practical skills to design and build their very own dream room — and even bring it to life with 3D models and mood boards!
What Will Students Do?
Throughout the week, students will participate in a variety of fun, interactive activities that combine design, crafting, and building skills:
1 Create a Dream Room Mood Board
Students will learn how to curate and design a mood board that reflects their ideal dream room, exploring colors, textures, and styles. They'll gather inspiration from their own preferences to showcase the perfect space!
2 Design a Mini 3D Model of Their Dream Room
Students will take their mood boards a step further by designing a mini 3D model of their dream room using foam boards, craft materials, and a variety of fun, tactile items. They'll learn how to translate their design ideas into real-world 3D objects, bringing their dream room to life!
3 Explore 3D Printing Technology
For an added bonus, students will get an introduction to 3D printing technology. They'll design a small object that complements their dream room (such as a mini chair or lamp) and watch it come to life with a 3D printer. This is a perfect opportunity to learn about technology and innovation!
4 Mini Exhibition Day
On the final day, students will have the opportunity to showcase their mood boards and mini 3D models in a mini exhibition for friends, family, and fellow students. This will be a chance for them to present their hard work, talk about their design choices, and celebrate their creative accomplishments!
What’s Included?
• All Materials: We provide all the necessary materials, including foam boards, craft foam, scissors, glue, paint, and other supplies for creating your 3D models.
• Expert Instruction: Local industry professionals will lead hands-on workshops, guiding students as they develop both design and building skills.
• 3D Printing: Students will have the chance to create a small 3D-printed object as part of their design process.
• Fun and Creativity: A week of hands-on fun where students will learn how to bring their imagination to life!
