Join us for a creative, noisy and impactful protest on the first official day of the conference to demand: leave killer gas in the ground! All welcome – there will be a role for everyone ?
Meet at 7.30 am at the northern entrance to the Adelaide Railway Station near the start of the Torrens River footbridge.
APA (owner member of APGA) plan to build pipelines to transport gas from the controversial Beetaloo Basin fracking projects in the NT. The projects are a climate disaster, with the Tamboran project alone set to unleash emissions equivalent to 2.3 billion tonnes of CO2, as well as posing unacceptable risks to water and country.
Help send the clear message to APA: Beetaloo is a climate bomb - don’t light the fuse!?
Many other big players in the oil and gas industry will also attend the APGA Conference, including companies like Santos, Woodside and Chevron, as well as government agencies. SA Energy & Mining Minister Tom Koutsantonis will give the keynote address on Monday.
Join us as we call out the gas industry on their lies:
?Gas is NOT renewable or clean (it’s a polluting fossil fuel!)
?We DON’T need more gas (around 80% of Australia’s gas is exported)
?Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) is a PIPE DREAM (the technology is unproven and has failed around the world)
?Gas is NOT vital for our economy (the gas & oil industry makes up a tiny 0.2% of jobs and 2.5% of GDP, with companies paying minimal taxes and royalties)
Save the date and plan to be there – more action details to come!
