About this Event
Protected Site Strategy Engagement - Session 2
This session focuses on the current reality of the Tees Estuary as a working landscape and seascape, where industry, infrastructure, communities and protected sites sit side by side.
Participants will explore:
- the pressures facing protected sites in an active estuary
- current management approaches and live projects already underway
- how regulation, operations and nature recovery interact in practice
- where risks and opportunities exist for collaboration and support
The session will include practical examples from across the estuary to ground discussion in real activity, helping participants understand what is working, where challenges remain and how existing efforts could be strengthened or better coordinated.
This session is designed to build a shared, practical understanding of the issues on the ground and to inform more effective collaboration in later sessions.
