The word "Reiki" combines two Japanese words: "rei," meaning universal, and "ki," meaning life energy or vital force. During a Reiki session, a practitioner uses their hands to channel this universal life energy to the recipient, either through light touch or by hovering their hands over the body. It is commonly used for relaxation, pain management, stress reduction, and promoting overall wellbeing.
