About this Event
Webinar Description:
PROSPER is the Proactive Reduction of Suicide in Populations via Evidence-based Research.
Recent studies found that mental health providers are less willing to treat patients with suicidal symptoms due to their self-identified lack of training and resources. Less than 50% of graduate training programs in mental health provide formal instruction on suicide risk assessment, and such training equals <2 hours on average. This six-hour course is spread across three 2-hour webinars, offered to physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, behavior analysts, counselors and those interested in stopping the ascending suicide trends in their community. Through didactics, discussion, video and simulations, learners will increase their competence, confidence and comfort managing suicidal patients. Learners will develop the most contemporary skills in evidence-based risk assessment, management and clinical decision making.
- The webinar cost is a flat fee for all 6 hours of training (three 2-hour webinar sessions). Registering for the February session (2:00-4:00pm ET) provides access to all three sessions; sessions may not be purchased separately and for continuing education attendees are required to attend all three webinar sessions.
- Session 1 will be held from 2:00-4:00pm ET on February 11th.
- Session 2 will be held from 2:00-4:00pm ET on February 18th.
- Session 3 will be held from 2:00-4:00pm ET on February 25th.
***A URL for Zoom will be emailed to all registered attendees 24 hours prior to the webinar. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM EMAIL BOX, as the links sometime end up there.
