Prospect Congregational UCC in Seattle is proud to launch a new recital series with a fantastic program by cellist Mary Riles and pianist Peter Nelson-King!Mary Riles and Peter Nelson-King have enjoyed a long musical partnership, including Peter's modular chamber ensemble Cursive, and have embarked on a journey to explore unjustly neglected masterworks of the cello/piano repertoire. Their first recital in this project highlights wonderful, little heard works, such as: a lush, perfectly crafted set by Nadia Boulanger; James Simon's harrowing Lament, anticipating the horrors of the second World War; and a thrilling set of Variations by the Black British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
Prospect's recital series is officially open for applicants, and we hope you come to this unique program and are inspired to mount your own!
