Step inside Prospect House – once a grand home, now a place of lingering shadows and whispered secrets. Built in 1847 on the grounds of a Norman castle, its walls have witnessed tragedy, mystery, and sorrow. Tonight, you are invited to uncover its secrets… if you dare.
🩸 The Spirits of Prospect House
• The Makin Family (1847–1855): Two young daughters, lost in their teens, are said to wander the grand staircase. Guests report hearing laughter and whispers in Room 1 – believed to be their restless spirits.
• Arthur Cockayne Meggitt (1887–1903): A failed businessman who died under suspicious circumstances. Many sense the presence of a grumpy man, muttering obscenities in the corridors.
• Dr John James Huey (1905–1942): Once a respected physician, his ghostly figure is seen rushing the landings, sometimes heard as voices begging: “Help me, Jack.”
• The Lady on the Stairs (1950–1963): After the sudden death of Geraldyne Lindsay in 1951, visitors often encounter her silent apparition, forever watching from the upper landing.
