Pros and Cons of Self-Publishing

This is an opportunity to gain insight how to navigate the self-publishing process!

This session is intended to be a stand alone workshop. Separate from part one this session includes:

• Selecting a publisher!
• Comparing publishing packages, costs and royalties. Add on cost for separate marketing services.
• The latter, royalties the author share of book sales. Royalties are paid differently depending on criteria of the publisher usually quarterly and meets a minimum amount. Consignment same day sales payment is received end of day, example Barnes and Noble.
• Author discount when purchasing directly from the publisher.
• Method of payment by check or deposit into your bank account.

Publisher provides as part of the package:

• ISBN number
• Copy provided to the Library of Congress
• Copyright statement
