With a strong desire to be master of his own destiny, Sam Chick had an ambition to leave his job before the age of 30. To this end, he had been investing and completing property projects since 2014 whilst in fulltime employment. Moving to part-time employment before eventually giving up his job, he started out by buying a house to convert to a professional HMO, which eventually led him to building a portfolio of student HMOs.

Sam started life as an electrical engineer, travelling around the world to work on shore power systems for super yachts and visiting places such as Monaco and New Zealand among others.

• Successfully completed 18 property investment projects with 13 of these being Student Accommodation properties which are held within our portfolio.

In 2018 Mike started to invest in property to seek a better work/life balance and went full time into property in 2020. Since then Mike has built a portfolio of 22 Properties consisting of Vanilla BTL, HMOs and commercial property.

In 2022 Mike started Arcvelop investor Group with two business partners focussing on larger commercial to residential conversions. This development company recently won Property Deal of the Year at the 2023 UK property investor awards

Arcvelop Investor Group has finished its first two conversions and is currently building out three sites across three locations. These sites will deliver a total of 63 high quality flats

Before investing in property, Mike had a long and successful corporate career:

• 11 years with Accenture consulting with focus in Outsourcing and Technology deployments. Mike ran teams across Europe, America and Asia helping clients such as Unilever, BT and Microsoft with strategy, technology implementations and outsourcing
• Mikes last project was to successfully outsource IT, HR & Finance departments for an £8bn company across 75 Countries to three different offshore delivery centres
• Mike left consulting to spend more time with his young family and became CIO of May Gurney, then IT director for a large UK building firm (Kier) – and ran 200 Staff with £27m Opex and £15m Capex budget.

Mike is married with two children and has a passion for travel.

Steve and his Team act on a wide range of property-related matters including the conveyancing of residential property and development land, bridging and development finance and option agreements. With the growing demand for new build properties, Steve has built up specialist experience in acting on the acquisition of small to medium size development sites together with the subsequent plot sales.

Since joining New Mortgage Finance in 2002, Max Mace has helped hundreds of clients find the right finance for their property aspirations. He has worked tirelessly to grow the business alongside his fellow Directors and in 2019 became Managing Director. As the Managing Director of NM Finance, Max runs the Residential and Commercial teams within the business. Max has an enviable knowledge of the specialist bridging and development market and has built a reputation as a man that gets things done in the property finance space.

Max has also invested in property for over 15 years, so knows the industry inside out.
