Topics covered in this course will include and but are not limited to; sexual plant propagation; seed treatment; seed sowing; growing media; plant nutrition; soil biology; asexual propagation; harvesting and preparing cuttings and other facets for the home gardener.This is very much a hands-on course in which the students will have use of The Hut’s facilities such as the greenhouse and it's propagation unit, the vegipods, wicking beds and the pot culture system, all which will suit various crops, fruits, shrubs and trees.
The Term 4 course starts on Thursday October 31st 2024 from 10am to 2pm and occurs on Thursdays weekly for 5 weeks. Field trip with transport provided on the 12th November and a mini field trip on the 7th with self transport required.
Space is limited to 16 persons.
