Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD is an evidence-based behavioral treatment that empowers clients to face their trauma.
About this Event

PE is given the highest level of recommendation by the APA and DoD/VA for the treatment of PTSD. It is a behavioral therapy that confronts memories (imaginals) and behaviors (in vivos) that clients develop after trauma that keep them living as though they are still unsafe and unworthy. The specific strategies taught in this training can be used to treat any disorder where avoidance is a primary issue: PTSD, anxiety, phobias, OCD, and depression. An overview of DBTPE, treating trauma in complex PTSD presentations with DBT and DBTPE, will also be provided.

PE is also a telehealth evidence-based training (e.g., Acierno et al, 2016; Gros et al, 2016; Yuen et al, 2015), and specific attention to delivery of PE via telehealth will be provided during this training.
