Als onderdeel van hun Project Wiaspora-podcast ontwikkelden initiatiefnemers Simone Zeefuik en Richard Kofi, financieel ondersteund door het Stimuleringsfonds, een nieuwe serie: Wiasporan Proverbs. Deze proverbs bestaan uit zes waarheden waarvan er vier live worden opgenomen in de theaterzaal van het huis waar Zeefuik en Kofi beiden werken als programmeur: het Bijlmer Parktheater. Elke aflevering is een mix van gesprekken en performances. De twee Wiasporan Truths die ze donderdag 18 november samen met hun tafelgasten opnemen, heten “What’s the scenario?” en “What’s the future tense of being Afro-European”. “What’s the scenario?” gaat over de manieren waarop Kofi, Zeefuik en hun tafelgasten de representatie van alledaagsheden en spektakels in het leven van Afro-Europeanen graag zouden willen zien. Überhaupt, maar in deze aflevering focussen ze zich op het grote doek. Voor de gelegenheid schrijven twee van de gasten een filmscene waarvan de dialoog wordt voorgedragen door vier van hun lievelingsacteurs. In de aflevering “Past, present… What’s the future tense of being Afro-European” verbeelden Kofi, Zeefuik en drie andere tafelgasten dan in de voorgaande aflevering de toekomst van de Afrodiasporische gemeenschappen in Europa. Voor dit gesprek focussen ze zich op nationale instituten en onafhankelijke initiatieven. De line-up van dit programma wordt vrijdag 15 oktober bekendgemaakt. As part of their Project Wiaspora podcast, initiators Simone Zeefuik and Richard Kofi, financially supported by the Stimuleringsfonds, developed a new series: Wiasporan Proverbs. These proverbs consist of six truths, four of which are recorded live in the main room of the house where Zeefuik and Kofi both work as programmers: Bijlmer Parktheater. Each episode is a mix of conversations and performances. The two Wiasporan Truths they’ll record with their guests on Thursday, November 18, are "What's the scenario?" and “What's the future tense of being Afro-European?”. "What's the scenario?" is about the ways in which Kofi, Zeefuik and their guests would like to see the representation of everydayness and spectacles in the lives of Afro-Europeans. In general, of course… but, in this episode they focus on cinema. For the occasion, two of the guests are writing scenes of which the dialogue will be recited by four of their favorite actors. In the episode “Past, present… What's the future tense of being Afro-European” Kofi, Zeefuik and three other guests will visualize the future of Afrodiasporic communities in Europe. For this Wiasporan Truth, they’ll focus on national institutes and independent initiatives.
