About this Event
Join us for an exclusive evening celebrating the culmination of the Healing Words Creative Writing Project, hosted by Quetzal, a Leicester-based charity. This invitation-only event will mark the soft launch of our new book, a powerful testament to creativity and healing. This event is a significant part of Quetzal’s Week of Activism 2024, which supports survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA).
All proceeds from ticket purchases and donations will go towards furthering our mission in providing free long-term counselling services to female survivors of CSA.

About Project Healing Words
Project Healing Words was born out of extensive engagement, surveys, and focus group discussions, which highlighted the need for specialized workshops for our service beneficiaries. Thanks to a generous grant of £8,819 from the National Lottery Community Fund, we launched Healing Words: Empowering Survivors through Storytelling.
This project aims to empower female survivors of CSA through creative writing, offering workshops, individual support, and platforms for sharing their stories. Initially planned as a six-week series of weekly sessions, the project resonated so deeply with participants that they continued meeting long after the official sessions concluded.
Key collaborators, including Nicci Robinson and Victoria Villasenor from Global Wordsmiths, have played an integral role in bringing this project to life by working closely with Quetzal and the participants.
