Project Appleseed is a nationwide program teaching marksmanship skills and Revolutionary War history.A ticket to this event includes two days of instruction, all targets, and a T-shirt.
The Project Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Clinic will be held at Walker County Sheriff Office range at 23706 Highway 118, Jasper, AL 35501.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Instruction begins promptly at 8:30. On Saturday, we'll wrap up about 5. On Sunday, about 4.
You will learn the skills to be accurate out to 500 yards, with iron sights or a scope, a standard rifle and surplus ammo. Most of the instruction at a Project Appleseed event is conducted on the firing range at 25 yards, at reduced size targets to simulate 100 to 400 yards.
Students will learn rifle shooting from the standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone positions, sight alignment, and breath control, safe rifle handling, proper use of a sling, and the story of the first days of our Nation.
