Project Angel Food announces the return of ANGEL ART the acclaimed benefit auction happening on Thursday February 27 2025 in partnership with the international auction house Bonhams and featuring Honorary Chair Alexandra Grant.
In the aftermath of the devastating Los Angeles fires which has left countless Angelenos displaced and experiencing food insecurity Project Angel Food saw a 10% surge in clients many of whom are elderly and grappling with respiratory conditions worsened by lingering poor air quality. Project Angel Food immediately stepped in to assist overburdened organizations across LA County no longer able to prepare or deliver meals.
There has never been a more critical time to champion the work of Project Angel Food. To help meet these challenges 100% of the ANGEL ART live event and auction proceeds will benefit Project Angel Food uniting the art community behind the non-profit’s transformative work to support seriously and terminally ill individuals.
World-renowned artists including Jeff Koons Louise Nevelson Herb Ritts William Wegman and many more who are pioneers in their respective mediums and movements have agreed to unite in one common goal: supporting the work of Project Angel Food as it cares for nourishes and feeds the people of Los Angeles.
Join us for cocktails and bites lovingly prepared by Project Angel Food’s incredible kitchen team and served by our dedicated Angel volunteers. Together let’s celebrate the power of art and community to heal and inspire.
About Angel Art:
ANGEL ART is highly regarded with established galleries collectors and artists for over 30 years. Attended by Project Angel Food supporters entertainment / business leaders designers philanthropists and collectors ANGEL ART will be open for public viewing on February 25 / 26 with the event — VIP cocktails / viewing silent and live auction. ANGEL ART has raised over $13 million since its inception and continues to be a driving force in our ability to provide the most vulnerable in our community with life-saving nutritious medically tailored meals. Serving as Honorary Chair is artist and philanthropist Alexandra Grant who will join our esteemed curation committee to build the collection of 50 donated works by contemporary artists. Previous participants include John Baldessari Mark Bradford Damien Hirst David Hockney Alex Israel Shio Kusaka Robert Mapplethorpe Catherine Opie Herb Ritts Jennifer Rochlin Sterling Ruby Ed Ruscha Analia Saban Cindy Sherman Sage Vaughn Andy Warhol and Jonas Wood to name a few. 100% of funds raised will go directly toward the agency’s operations. About Project Angel Food Founded in 1989 Project Angel Food is committed to nourishing the health and spirit of vulnerable individuals facing critical and life-threatening illnesses. The organization prepares and delivers medically tailored meals with love care and dignity distributing 1.5 million meals annually to over 5200 critically ill individuals serving more than 3000 each day. Recognized by the Mayor of Los Angeles as an essential service and a leader in the Food is Medicine movement Project Angel Food maintains a Four-Star rating from Charity Navigator has twice been named California’s Non-Profit of the Year and received a commendation from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for extraordinary service in January 2025.
