Bosko Baker's Do Makers serve up a raw, foot-stompin’ dose of American roots music—what they call 'street swing'—that’ll make you feel like you just stumbled onto a New Orleans street corner where time’s a blur, the tunes are hot, and the sidewalks still remember.
Tyler Westcott is a singer-songwriter, storyteller, poet, band leader, and multi-instrumentalist based in Western New York. With a banjo, guitar, harmonica, and a sharp lyrical wit, he delivers songs that explore the human condition with humor and heart. Drawing on old-time string band music, 1920s & ’30s blues and jazz, folk revival, and field recordings, Westcott blends tradition with original songwriting that feels both timeless and timely.
Since founding the eclectic roots band Folkfaces in 2011, Westcott has become a staple of the Northeastern music scene. He also fronts the Banjo Juice Jazz Band, the Django-inspired Paper Roses, and performs solo and with the Tyler Westcott Band. In 2022, he marked 9 years of a weekly residency at Nietzsche’s in Buffalo, featuring artists from across the country.
His recorded output includes a self-titled solo debut (2017), the acoustic jazz duo album Medical Record (2020), Pandemic Summer (2022), Singin’ My Friends’ Songs (2023), and most recently Royal Street Blues (2024), a New Orleans-based full band concept album. His next solo record, Wanderlust, is due in 2025.
Beyond the stage, Westcott is the founder and curator of Folkfaces Fest, an annual grassroots music festival blending roots, rock, folk, world music, workshops, art, and more. Now in its 9th year, the event has hosted artists like Bruce Molsky, Pete Bernhard, Dom Flemons, Tony Trischka, Rushad Eggleston, and many others.
Tyler has shared the stage with legends including Peter Rowan, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Sierra Ferrell, JD Wilkes, Willie Watson, Dom Flemons, The Felice Brothers and Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. Whether solo or backed by a band, his performances are lively, soulful, and rich with roots music tradition.
