About this Event
To confront or not to confront? Sometimes you cannot get around this question at work. Do you tell your colleagues how annoying you find it that they are always late? What do you do when you hear someone making a sexist remark? And what if you are convinced that the course that is being followed is not the right one? Based on insights from psychology, philosophy and conflict theory, this workshop will teach you how to constructively confront.
The workshop is for all of us who are noticing that they often bury their head in the sand or feel like they are chopping with a blunt axe. It turns out that the conflict styles most of us use, are often not very effective. Fortunately, we can do something about this.
In this day-long workshop you will:
- Learn to combine honesty with tact
- Apply techniques and interventions to your own work
- Learn about the need to speak up
- Be given techniques to express yourself in a constructive way
- Build up the confidence to take more risks and embrace 'confrontations'.
The workshop leaders: Gijs Deckers
Gijs is a philosopher and psychologist and works as a coach, trainer, speaker and theatre maker. He is an expert in stress management, wellbeing and burn-out. In his work he uses stories, humor and knowledge to help participants gain new insights. He knows how to ask the right questions and quickly gets to the heart of the matter.
The workshop leaders: Wicher Schols
Wicher is a trainer, coach and Head of Faculty at The School of Life. He graduated cum laude in Business Studies with a specialisation in Human Resources. He specialises in non-violent communication and talent development. With his open and sharp analytical vision, he is able to get the best out of people.
