Our 5-week training program will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the floral industry. Whether you're a beginner looking to explore a new passion or a seasoned pro wanting to refine your craft, this event is perfect for you. Schedule: Sundays only, 2.5 hours per session
Week 1: Foundations of Floral Design
- Introduction to the floral industry & career paths
- Tools of the trade: floral knives, scissors, wire, tape, foam, etc.
- Flower care & conditioning (hydration, storage, handling)
- Basics of color theory & flower selection
- Hands-on: Creating your first hand-tied bouquet
Week 2: Vase & Everyday Arrangements
- Principles of balance, proportion, and scale
- Working with floral foam vs. chicken wire vs. pin frogs
- Design styles: traditional, modern, garden-inspired
- Hands-on: Designing a vase arrangement for home or retail
Week 3: Weddings & Events
- Bridal bouquets (round, cascading, freeform)
- Boutonnieres, corsages, and wearable flowers
- Ceremony & reception décor basics
- Hands-on: Bridal bouquet & boutonniere practice
Week 4: Large-Scale & Creative Design
- Event installations: arches, backdrops, centerpieces
- Mechanics & stability for large-scale floral designs
- Creative techniques: using branches, greenery, and unusual vessels
- Hands-on: Group project – floral arch or large centerpiece
Week 5: Business & Portfolio Building
- Pricing, costing, and profit margins for florists
- Subscription flowers & corporate accounts
- Branding & marketing (Instagram, photography tips)
- Building a professional portfolio (photoshoot of final designs)
- Hands-on: Final project – create your signature floral piece
