Sisters and Brothers of the PFFMaine,We are excited to invite you to the upcoming PFFMaine Educational Conference, taking place on October 28th and 29th, 2024, at the Hollywood Slots & Casino Resort in the vibrant city of Bangor, Maine. This conference provides a unique opportunity for our leaders and members to enhance their skills, gain valuable insights, and engage with fellow firefighters and leaders in our community.
The conference kicks off on Monday, October 28th, with a continental breakfast and registration starting at 7:30 AM, quickly followed by our opening remarks. Throughout the day, we will offer a variety of sessions covering crucial topics such as Crisis Communications, Cancer and Behavioral Health, and Generational Differences. Additionally, we will discuss the duties of local union officers and provide opportunities for networking through our Social Media best practices and Retiree Round Table discussions.
Tuesday’s sessions will cover essential tools such as Budgeting for Local Unions and strategies for Firefighter Resiliency in Work/Life Balance. We aim to equip our members with the latest insights on Active Shooter and Hostile Event Response, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of both current challenges and effective solutions. Furthermore, our friends from K-9 First Responders will present on “Utilizing Crisis Mental Health Dog Teams,” which are suited to respond to daily stressors, critical incidents, local crises, community tragedies, hostile events, and active shooter or mass casualty incidents that may be helpful to our State and Local Peer Teams and members.
We will conclude each day with opportunities for fellowship during our lunch sessions and evening reception, culminating in an optional pub crawl for those who wish to continue the camaraderie.
Join us for this enriching experience, where you will learn from experts, share thoughts with peers, and return home empowered to serve our communities even better. The registration fee for this year’s conference is $100.00 per person. No Charge for our retirees.
