About this Event

The United Irish Cultural Center (UICC) is excited to announce that undefeated super welterweight Callum Walsh (3-0, 3 KOs) will headline Pro-Am Fight Night 2022 #2 on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in the St. Patrick’s Room of Irish Center SF, located on the corner of 45th Avenue and Wawona in the Outer Sunset of San Francisco.

Ticket sales were planned for May 17 at www.IrishCenterSF.org, but we are awaiting final approval to put tickets on sale.

With only three professional fights under his belt, Calum Walsh may seem like a newbie who needs to fight up the ranks, but his showing in his professional debut last December put him on the map with a 30-second knock-out of opponent Earl Henry. Walsh did it again on March 17 when he laid Gael Ibarra to the mat in just 33 seconds.

Two months later, on May 12, 2022, Walsh recorded his third knockout in a fight with the undefeated Luis ‘The Sniper’ Garcia (now 3-1, 1 KO) in the first round at the Quiet Cannon located within the Montebello Country Club in Montebello, California. Walsh dropped Garcia twice, to notch his third straight first-round KO. The time was 1:48.

That’s quite an exciting way for this Irishman to start his career. The Cork native is getting lots of looks and support from the combat sports industry, including UFC's Dana White. A southpaw at 6” tall, 154 pounds, and 21 years of age, Walsh has shown that he has strategic precision and is a deadly force in the ring.

Managed by Tom Loeffler of 360 Promotions and trained by the legendary Freddie Roach of the Wild Card Boxing Club, Walsh has solid support in Ireland and now in the U.S. The support is impressive for an international boxer so young. “We’re stoked to bring Calum to San Francisco", says Loeffler. "There’s a lot of enthusiasm for boxing in the Bay area. And there is no better home in San Francisco for Calum than the Irish Center.”

While boxing may seem like a departure for the Irish Center SF, it has come as a nice surprise to the Sunset District. “We held our first amateur boxing night since 2019 last month. It was so successful that we wanted to offer it again, this time showcasing both professional and amateur boxers in a hybrid event", says UICC president Liam Reidy.

"It’s a fantastic way for boxing fans from all over the Bay area to hang out with the boxing lovers of the Sunset. It’s about the exhilaration of the sport," Reidy notes.

The Irish Center SF is well known in the neighborhood and around San Francisco for its outdoor music and gathering space, Wawona Gates, The Center's month-long celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, plus Irish dancing competitions, an Irish library, exhibits, and concerts. With boxing, the Irish Center opens a new and exciting offering to sports enthusiasts.
