I am starting a “cult”!
What is the meaning of emotional expression if you can’t share it with others?
Reborn from the ashes of past projects in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, Jessica King now focusses on her individual artistic vision, in which she combines experimental vocal sounds, undeviating honesty and expressive musical dynamics.
Drawing influences from alternative (German) Punk/Rock, modern Jazz and everyday sound pollution in the line of Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, Björk and Ambulance Sirens, Jess crafts seamlessly sown songs that linger well past the last notes have faded. In her lyrics (which she writes in English and German,) she touches topics that are often avoided by modern society, like: industrial-like structures, societal expectations, and mental health.

Bimbo Charlie is ontstaan uit een verlangen naar meer Nederlandstalige elektronische muziek. Ans en Simon gaan opzoek naar de grenzen van het elektronische en luisterbare popmuziek en exploreren de sound van deze genres door de lens van verhalende teksten. De tekstuele zachtheid brengen ze samen met hardere instrumentals om de uitdrukking van de emoties in de songs tot volledige expressie te brengen. Als woorden tekort komen, stamp je toch alles los op een stevige bas?
De poëtische teksten zijn een uitloper van de schrijfpraktijk van Ans. De muzikale uitwerking gebeurt samen, waarbij tekst, muziek en andere ideeën snel kruisen. Hierbij zoeken we naar een mix van hyperpop, luisterliedjes en akoestische elementen.

20:30 - Rob Moens
Rob Moens is a Belgian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Ghent. Growing up in a musical family, he found his way to music early on. His father introduced him to classic rock legends like Bruce Springsteen, planting the seeds for a lasting love for heartfelt storytelling and honest rock songs.
Over the years, writing became a way for Rob to try to understand the world around him — and himself. His songs are often reflective, touching love in all its shades: the beauty, the ache, and the melancholy that lingers when something meaningful slips away and becomes a memory.
After a few years of writing, Rob put together a band of friends he met while studying at the Conservatory in Ghent. Together they bring his songs to life on stage — creating a sound that moves between heartland rock, indie, and cinematic Americana: warm, wide, and full of emotion.
He’s currently working on his debut EP, introducing his sound and musical influences.
