Creator Space is excited to announce our first-ever workshop for the Fort Wayne creative community! Join us on Saturday, June 1st, at 11 am at the Allen County Public Library Downtown as we kick off our three-part free workshop titled "Producing a Movie," led by Matt Webb, Associate Professor of Film Production and Film Capstone Coordinator at Huntington University.Matt Webb is a writer, director, and producer for stage and screen. He’s written, directed, and/or produced 5 award-winning feature-length films, dozens of plays, and a 45-show US tour of an original musical comedy show. He’s Assistant Professor of Film Production at Huntington University where he coordinates the Film Capstone program – a mentor-based feature-film production company pairing industry pros with film students. He also serves on the board of Forester Film, LLC, the film production arm of Huntington University, and is producing his 6th film, Overhill Manor in 2025.
This workshop will be a three-event series specifically focused on the three main stages of producing a movie or film project. Here is the breakdown of the three workshop sessions and what to expect!
1. Getting your Project Off the Ground - Pre-Producing a Movie
Sometimes getting started is the hardest part of making a movie. In this first producing session, we’ll go through the creative, business, financial, and legal considerations needed to get your project launched.
2. In the Trenches – Producing a Movie
In the second producing session, we’ll look at how to get all your ducks in a row in order make your movie; from contracts and budgeting to insurance and more.
3. Finding & Growing Your Audience – Marketing & Distribution Your Movie
In the third and final producing session, we’ll explore how to find and grow your audience, and how to match your project with the myriad opportunities there are for distribution.
This workshop is free, but we do ask you to sign up at the link below to attend. Space is limited, so once we fill up on sign-ups, the form will be taken down. Also, feel free to bring your preferred note-taking options as there will be lots of great information along with interactive elements during the workshop!

Part 1 of the workshop kicks off in Downtown Fort Wayne at the Allen County Public Library on Saturday, June 1st, at 11 am. We will be hosting the workshop in Meeting Room A. We will have people to help you find the room, but once you arrive at the library, feel free to ask any library staff, and they can help point you in the right direction!
