Feeling the weight of too much? …too much tragedy…too much tension…too much insane politics happening in the world? You’re not alone.
Let’s turn that restless ache into something bold, beautiful, and real.
Join us for an immersive art-as-process experience where you’ll explore the swirling, shadowy terrain of world weariness through expressive mark-making, color, and intuition—on giant 4-foot canvases. This isn’t about painting something pretty. It’s about giving form to the formless, finding meaning in the mess, and creating space for whatever needs to be felt.
No art experience required. Just bring your whole self (yes, even the angsty, anxious, uncertain parts).
Together we’ll play, process, and maybe even find a little beauty in the void.
What is Process Painting?
Process painting emphasizes the experience of creating over the final product, focusing on the journey of painting itself rather than achieving a specific outcome. It's a way of engaging with your creative energy. The goal is to explore the creative process, experiment with materials, and discover new aspects of yourself through mark-making—color, symbolism, movement, and metaphor will intuitively allow you to express aspects of your subconscious and anchor your nervous system.
What to Expect:
• Creative warm-up activities to shake off the inner critic and prepare you for art-making (this is helpful for artists and non-artists alike)
• Flash technique (an EMDR trauma therapy ‘positive resourcing’ method) to support nervous system regulation
• Guided process painting journey on 4-ft canvases
• Somatic reflection and creative journaling to support integrative processing
• Optional group sharing in a supportive circle
