In this one-session FREE class, you will learn to improve your portrait drawings from a professional portrait artist.Ages 16+

Students should have basic drawing skills with a desire to improve.

Please be considerate to the other students and the instructor, and arrive on time.
This class introduces students to the fundamental techniques, concepts, and principles essential for drawings heads, and capturing a subject's likeness and personality.
Materials
(No materials will be supplied. Students are responsible for purchasing their own art supplies.)
Newsprint Paper 9x12
Pencils 2b, 4b, 6b
Erasers hard + Kneeded
Charcoal (medium)
Drawing board*
*A drawing board provides a hard surface for your drawing pad so it doesn't bend or bow as you draw. It is typically a thin wooden board with clips at the top to hold your pad or a single sheet of paper.
A ¼" plywood sheet, cut slightly larger than the drawing pad is an alternative option.

About the instructor
Tyler Rutherford has a BFA from Lesley University and has been teaching high school-age kids (14-17) for the past seven years.
