Private Guided Hikes - Full Day

Leave the planning to us, and book a private guided hike for your group with Rocky Mountain Conserancy! Our experienced guides will walk you through what to bring, provide transportation from downtown Estes Park to and from the trailhead, and then share a wealth of knowldege with you along the trail. Our early season full-day hikes explore the natural history and ecology of Lake Haiyaha or WIld Basin in Rocky Mountain National Park. Plan to spend 6 to 8 hours with us, and 5 to 7 hours on the trail.

Lake Haiyaha

Hike to Lake Haiyaha on this 5.2 mile loop and pass two more gorgeous lakes on your way. This hike is rated moderate difficulty with 745 ft of elevation gain and loss. Bear Lake and Dream Lake are destinations on their own, but this loop hike to Lake Haiyaha is one of the most scenic in the park for the distance. Carefully navigate this area by following the twisted pines, said to be some of the oldest trees in the park, until you reach the boulder filled base of Lake Haiyaha. Enjoy the glacial history of the area and learn about the power of glacial flour.

Wild Basin Waterfalls

Waterfall enthusiasts will enjoy this spectacular hike to 3 falls in Wild Basin. Rated moderately difficult, this 5.3 mile out and back trail has 984 ft of elevation gain and loss. Start on the south side of Rocky Mountain National Park at the Wild Basin Trailhead, then follow North St. Vrain Creek to Copeland Falls, Calypso Cascades and Ouzel Falls. Ouzel is named after the gray bird common to whitewater streams in the West. In the spring and summer expect to see abundant wildflowers along the trail. This shady trail can offer some relief during warm summer days.

The Rocky Mountain Conservancy provides transportation to and from the trailhead. We will meet at the Estes Park Visitors Center on Mondays and Fridays. We will meet at the Estes Park Event Center on Thursdays. All park fees and permits are included in your registration fee. A separate timed entry permit is NOT required.

Please bring a day pack with:

· Warm layers (weather depending)

· Waterproof layer(s)

· Lunch & snacks

· Water (2 liters recommended)

· Sturdy tennis shoes or hiking boots

Guided hikes have some flexibility in start/end times. If you have preferred times, please indicate those preferences during checkout.
