PRIVACY PLEASE deviate from the well-known, heteronormative image of a band and bring diversity to the German indie rock scene! Particularly around their hometown of Cologne, the half-FLINTA* quintet attracts attention on club and festival stages with their energy and authenticity, leaving a trace of glitter behind every time.
Their music wants to create space for emotional identification with topics such as love and self-love, searching and finding, acceptance and change in queer and non-queer realities of life.
Stylistically, the band moves somewhere between indie pop and alternative rock. Their music is both groovy and danceable - loud and catchy. The songs offer space to let yourself be carried away and yet always force you to stop and take a deep breath.
In 2022 the band released the singles “Won't Bite” and “Abigail”. Songs that were created during singer Emelyn's coming out process and that touched the band and fans alike. They indicated the direction of the band's identity and the themes of their songs. There are three more single releases coming in 2024.
Their latest song “Bad Times On Replay” will be released on March 22, 2024. It is the first that PRIVACY PLEASE will release with a five-piece cast. An emotional roller coaster ride through the ups and downs of falling in love with fear of commitment.
While PRIVACY PLEASE have so far been heard mainly in and around Cologne, in 2024 they will play at festivals all over Germany, for example at the Queer Music Festival in Leipzig, the Nicht Panik Festival in Northern Hesse and Cologne Pride.
