Gelli Plate Monotype: Play with layers, stencils, and color to make one-of-a-kind prints.Have you ever visited one of Plains Art Museum’s many printmaking exhibitions and wondered how the artists created their intricate blocks, plates, or prints? The Printmaking Sampler Series invites you to step into the process yourself! Each session explores a different printmaking method—from relief and intaglio to monotype, lithography, and screen printing—giving you hands-on experience with the tools, materials, and techniques behind the art on our walls. While most workshops will take place in the studios of the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity, some sessions will be hosted in Hannaher’s, Inc. Print Studio, offering participants a special opportunity to create in a professional printmaking environment used by visiting artists. Designed for beginners and returning artists alike, these classes celebrate the creativity, experimentation, and surprise that make printmaking such a rewarding art form.
