Place:
Montana Natural History Center
120 Hickory St
Missoula, MT 59801
About the workshop:
This workshop brings naturalist illustration and printmaking traditions into a contemporary context. Participants of all experience levels will draw an animal or specimen from the museum's collection and translate that drawing into a linoleum block print.
Participants will be guided through drawing specimens from the museum’s collection, carving images into easy-carve linoleum blocks, applying ink, and pressing their images onto heavyweight printmaking paper.
In working through this print-based project, participants will gain knowledge of a print-based process and generate new ideas about how nature can be represented in visual art.
Audience: This workshop is suitable for all ages 12+. Please bring your grown-up if you are under 16.
What to bring: Everything you need will be provided!
Cost: The workshop is free, but a suggested donation is appreciated!
Registration: Registration is required and will close 24 hours before the workshop begins.
