Autumn printmaking retreat
Enjoy slowing down and noticing the environment around us, from the little things by our feet to the shapes in the skyline. Sketch what’s interesting to you and get inspired for some printmaking.
Learn various methods of printmaking such as monoprint and collagraph with Elin who will guide you through the fun and explorative nature of printmaking, ensuring you create a unique work of art.
You will start and end each day with a mindful flowing yoga practice with Polly.
We’ve teamed up with the wonderful Elin Crowley who is an experienced local printmaker who takes her inspiration from the Mid Wales landscape. She recently completed an MA in Printmaking and works with various techniques like Linocut, Collagraph and Etching. She is founder and Director of Ennyn CIC who deliver creative workshops in schools and communities and sharing her passion for creativity is very important to her as she truly believes in the benefits of being creative for our mental health and wellbeing. She is also a keen runner and loves the outdoors which always gives her inspiration for her work.

3 days workshopping with Elin including all materials
6 yoga sessions over the weekend
What will the weekend look like?
Day 1. Morning yoga and breakfast will be followed by a brief introduction to sketching materials and techniques. Then you will head out with Elin and Polly for a sketching walk to find inspiration for your prints. After returning to our venue for lunch you will get to try out some printmaking techniques using your drawings. You’ll finish up the day with a relaxing yoga session followed by a hearty healthy dinner.
Day 2. After yoga and breakfast you’ll be working on your printing plates. You’ll have more chance after lunch to continue or if you’ve done you can have a go at another printmaking technique. Yoga and dinner will follow.
Day 3. After yoga and breakfast day 3 will be all about the printing! You’ll have some fabulous artwork to take home with you all of your own creation.
Rooms
Accommodation will be mostly in single rooms. If you don’t mind sharing tick the box when booking your place and get £25 off the cost of the retreat.
