Printing with Light

Explore the unique process of Cyanotype Printing during this Summer Holiday Workshop.

In this workshop, hosted by Newbridge Print, we will learn about the magical process of Cyanotype printing, which translates UV light and shadows into striking prints. We will create constructions using building materials from our exhibition, and then play with light and shadows to create our prints. This workshop will challenge the way you have thought about printmaking – blurring the line between object and image.

This workshop is suitable for participants aged 7+

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please book both yourself and your child a place on this workshop.

About Newbridge Print

Newbridge Print is an open printmaking studio based in Shieldfield, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ran by George Stewart and Niall Greaves, the studio is rooted in experimentation and graphic arts and offers technical support in a range of printmaking processes. The studio has worked on projects with local community groups, schools, tailored classes for organisations as well as providing the facilities for artists and designers to realise their projects.

About BUILDING

The Farrell Centre presents BUILDING: An exhibition under construction which will transform the exhibition galleries into live making spaces in an exploration of the process of building.

The exhibition emerges from the major research project Translating Ferro / Transforming Knowledges of Architecture, Design and Labour for the New Field of Production Studies (TF/TK).
