About this Event
Join FE tutor Julie Stephen for November's edition of Printing for Enjoyment, where you will learn the creative technique of Tetra Pak Printmaking, using recycled Tetra Pak packaging, intaglio inks and a craft press.
During the workshop you will
- Choose and plan an image to print, for example this could be Flora, Fauna, Built Environment or a Festive theme.
- Learn how to manipulate, mark and build your printing plate, using etching points, biro, scoring tools etc.
- Learn how to apply intaglio inks and remove with scrim and cotton buds, creating effective marks and texture to your print.
- Learn how to use the craft press to make a selection of original Tetra Pak prints of your own to take home.
Please wear old clothes as the inks, although washable and safe, can stain your clothing. There will be a selection of recycled Tetra Pak packaging to use on the day, however you may wish to save a handful of cartons to bring with you as spares. Please wash out and allow to air dry before the workshop date.
We will be using sharp tools, so please be mindful when booking.
Anyone younger than 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
