On this walking tour, we will focus on the history of Chicago's printing industry by exploring Printer's Row. We will look at the surviving buildings and discuss what exactly the printing businesses inside of them did. We will also look at the history of the area and explain its critical importance in Chicago's broader story.

The tour takes about an hour. It involves walking around a busy downtown neighborhood, so wear a decent pair of shoes and bring your common sense.

The tour will be led by Jackson Showalter-Cavanaugh who runs Okay Type, a type design studio in Chicago.

Fully vaccinated participants only, please.
