About this Event
This is a printmaking and bookmaking workshop where you’ll create your own unique concertina book using the playful process of Gelli plate printmaking.
We’ll begin by experimenting with colour and mood - how warm and cool tones can change the atmosphere of an image and how colours connect to feelings, memories or imaginative spaces. Using these explorations, you’ll build a series of abstract and expressive prints.
Once you’ve created your prints, you’ll learn how to:
- Fold and assemble them into a concertina-style book
- Design covers using your most expressive prints
- Personalise your book so it reflects your chosen theme, mood, or place
The result is a completely personal handmade book that can be kept as a sketchbook, journal, photo book or given as a meaningful gift.
No previous printmaking or bookbinding experience is needed - just bring curiosity, enthusiasm and a sense of play!
