Set within a working studio, the session is guided by artisans and members of the team, allowing participants to learn the basics of printing on cloth using traditional wooden blocks. Weavers Studio houses over one lakh wooden blocks, comprising more than 10,000 designs, offering a rare view into the depth and variety behind this craft.
The workshop is designed for beginners and requires no prior experience.
Participants are guided through the process of using carved blocks, building repeat patterns, and applying colour by hand.
Along the way, simple stories are shared about the history of block printing and how the technique continues to be practised today.
The experience concludes with light snacks and a beverage, providing time to pause and take in the studio setting.
