Print & Make A Lampshade. Two workshops in one - traditional block printing and no-sew lampshade making.If you are new to Indian Wooden Block Printing or looking for a new project then this workshop is perfect for you.
In this workshop you will discover the ancient art of block printing using hand carved wooden blocks made in rural India by skilled artisans. Block printing can be used to create designs on bags, soft furnishing, clothing, lampshades, paper and more.
You will choose from a large selection of blocks and experiment with colour and design. You will learn how to use two colours and how to create repeat patterns on your sampler piece of fabric.
Once you are ready to move on you will print a piece of fabric and make your own no-sew lampshade. There are several shapes and sizes of lampshades to choose from, there may be a small additional fee to pay on the day for larger lampshades.
Further lampshade kits are available to purchase if you wish to make a matching pair.

NOTE: Please wear old clothing and bring an apron - fabric paint will mark your clothing.

Please note: the Craft Barn is an old stone barn and is accessed via external stone steps with handrails and unfortunately may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
