About this Event
In this two-session class, you’ll look at print and pattern inspiration before creating your own original design, then use a variety of found tools and homemade inks including oak, copper, avocado and turmeric to make striking and unique monoprints on fabric. Oak gall black is an intense permanent ink made from oak trees which has been used for centuries (Jane Austen used it to write with it!).
In week 2, you'll embellish your print with simple, modern embroidery to create texture and depth.
Course dates are Thursday 31st October and Thursday 7th November 18.30 - 20.30
This class is hosted by Wendy Roby, a textile artist from Stockport art studio Roby Workshop.
