About this Event
In collaboration with Boston University‘s Print Media & Photography MFA Program, the Leica Gallery Boston is excited to present Print and Process featuring the work of Jamison Cloud, Chuan Liu, Shannon Johnson, Rory McNamara, Jason Parent, Jay Puplava, Vic Ferreira Sardinha, Jerry Rodríguez Sosa, Susan Swirsley, and Tung Lin Tsai.
Founded in 2022, the MFA program emphasizes photographic and printmaking practices within a contemporary art context offering a truly experimental and interdisciplinary course of study.
From photogravure prints, to silver gelatin, to inkjet, these artists blur the boundaries between photography, art, and print media-- highlighting the importance of the physical print in age focused on the digital.
Within the work itself, the artists use the photograph to respond to questions of identity, place, and belonging; referencing and re-writing exisiting histories while envisioning new futures.
The Leica Gallery Boston invites you to celebrate these incredible emerging artists at the exhibition opening reception on Thursday, January 23rd from 6-8PM.
Hear from Boston University Department of Photography Chair and Assistant Professor of Art Toni Pepe at her artist talk on Saturday, January 25th from 12-2PM.
