PRIDE - Representations of Growing up Queer October 23 2021, 4:30-6:00pm
Stories by Queer people for Queer people
Rainbow Community House (RCH) is a low cost support service for LGBTIQA+ youth, their families, and friends. In operation since November 2019, the charity offers individual, couple and family therapy to anyone aged 12-25 who is questioning or identifying as gender and/or sexually diverse. Expanding rapidly since its inception, RCH has recently added a support and action group and free yoga to its repertoire, in collaboration with Crystal and Stone. It has been honoured to give voice to the experiences of young people in order to educate the community and guide allies.
Rainbow Community House presents stories of survival in the face of oppression and discrimination. Our Support and Action Group will share their perspectives on experiences of isolation and opportunities for connection. This will be done through interactive storytelling, drawing on multi-modal art forms to acknowledge their struggles and triumphs. Attendees will be invited to engage with artworks, and take away everyday actions to validate and normalise the existence of queer youth in society.
This event is a PRIDE event and is in collaboration with Rainbow Community House. All profits made from tickets will be going to Rainbow Community House as part of our dedication to the LGBTQIA+ community.
