About this Event
The Pride of Mt. Pisgah Scholarship program is a permanent fund administered by the Pride of Mt. Pisgah #135 in order to promote academic achievement, educational excellence, and community involvement. In addition to the candidate's academic abilities, the Scholarship Committee will evaluate the candidate's contribution to their school and their community through their involvement in extracurricular activities. Contributions to the community may be demonstrated by involvement in local clubs, Masonic organizations and other community activities.
This scholarship was established in 2009 by the members of Pride of Mt. Pisgah Lodge #135, PHA, and is governed by the overarching principles of freemasonry, chiefly, Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. The primary aim of this scholarship is to instill a greater sense of community service and volunteerism in our community and promote educational advancement. The scholarship fund and foundation are maintained through generous contributions of the members of the Masonic family, fundraising events, and other charitable giving.
The earnings from this Fund will provide an ongoing source of scholarship funding to deserving young men and women who are active in their communities and are pursuing higher education. At least one (1) award each year will be given to an individual who has demonstrated not only academic excellence, but also in depth community involvement, who will be pursuing advanced education in any field of their own choosing.
The ideal award recipient is either (i) a student graduating from a high school within the North Central Texas Region or (ii) already beyond high school and is currently attending an institution of higher education. In addition, eligible applicants must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or are in the top 25th class percentile
