About this Event
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Come learn to embroider your PRIDE! Using a selection of water dissolvable designs to guide you as well as an assortment of supplies (needles, hoops, fabric, thread, scissors etc.), you will learn all the basics of embroidery while also learning about the history of sewing and embroidery in the queer community. Each person will get to take some thread colors, needles, fabric, and their 3 inch hoop hope so they can continue their embroidery adventure!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
In a world of transgender prejudice, my goal is to spread trans joy through my goofy and bright embroidered crafts.
Items I make include embroidered earrings, magnets, bookmarks, bolo ties, and art. I focus on whimsy and silly and examples include bolo ties of two capybaras kissing, tiny embroidered carrots on earrings, and embroidered bookmarks with cat paws on them.
I focus on making sure the queer community is celebrated and many of my most popular items are embroidered earrings with pronouns on them and stuffed animals with embroidered on top surgery scars.
