About this Event
Family, Friends, and Neighbors’ Preview of Kirsten Leenaars’ New Film, Let the Real World In
Join us for a special family, friends, and neighbors’ “red-carpet” preview of Let the Real World In, a new documentary by artist and filmmaker Kirsten Leenaars, hosted at the Haggerty Museum of Art. Rooted in Leenaars’ long-term collaboration with students from the Milwaukee Academy of Chinese Language and Highland Community School, the film revisits the youth voices behind (Re)Housing the American Dream as they reflect on community, belonging, and coming of age. The evening will feature a “red-carpet” inspired welcome, film screening, and a live, video-recorded talkback with the filmmaker and participants. This neighborhood-centered celebration honors the young people and families whose stories shaped the work—and invites the community to experience its next chapter together.
Directions and Parking information may be found on our website.
