After blowing the roof off of BIGSOUND 2023 and earning high praise for their larger than life live show, Gippsland-born and Melbourne-based emo pop outfit, PRETTY BLEAK have wasted no time ushering in a new era with their debut EP ‘an introduction to a theme’ releasing July 31. The band will be celebrating the release with a very special show at The Workers Club in Melbourne on August 30th, and at The Tomcat in Brisbane on September 14th.
Continuing to deliver larger-than-life music and high-octane live performances, 2023 saw PRETTY BLEAK continue their impressive run, dropping stadium-sized singles ‘spare room song’ and ‘do you feel the same?’. The band also performed at Great Escape Festival in Tassie alongside the likes of G Flip and Eliza & The Delusionals before being touted at BIGSOUND as one of the most impressive live acts on the bill.
Working with producers spanning Melbourne, Los Angeles and New York, the band has developed a succession of singles set to serve as a soundtrack to the ‘20s. Drawing inspiration from the punk energy of Nirvana and dark pop of The Cure, PRETTY BLEAK showcase their take on 21st-century pop.
