Arriving in a new 4K restoration from the BFI National Archive, Horace Ové’s ground-breaking film follows a Black family in west London.The parents came from Trinidad as part of the Windrush generation with their first son, now part of the Black Power Movement, while their younger British-born son Tony (Herbert Norville), tries to find his place between the two cultures, drifting away from school friends and towards Black Power politics.

In partnership with Dare to Diva, the film will be followed by a panel discussion with founded of Literati Arts Leicester Ty'rone Haughton and Dr. Iris Lightfoote, CEO of The Race Equality Centre Leicester/Leicestershire, hosted by Carol Leeming MBE FRSA.
