Rooted in instinct, imagination, and inspiration, Pressing Strings has carved out a distinctive space in the music world with their soulful blend of rock, Americana, and heartfelt storytelling. Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, the trio—Jordan Sokel (guitar/vocals), Nick Welker (bass/vocals), and Justin Kruger (drums/vocals)—draw from a wide range of influences, from Dylan and Marley to Taj Mahal and Nick Drake. Since forming in 2006, they've evolved through six full-length albums and two EPs, with their latest release, And I For You, standing as their most complete and collaborative effort yet. Infused with optimism, groove, and thoughtful lyricism, songs like “Your Love,” “We Will Be Alright,” and “Weather the Storm” reflect the band’s ability to inspire connection through harmony and sincerity. Having shared stages with the likes of The Beach Boys, Gov’t Mule, and Rayland Baxter, and performed at top festivals including Firefly and Floydfest, Pressing Strings has earned critical praise and radio recognition along the East Coast and beyond. With soaring three-part harmonies and honest, emotive songwriting, they continue to grow a loyal fanbase through electrifying live shows and a sound that’s both timeless and uniquely their own.
