Join us on Thursday, January 1st from 5-7pm, for Payton's artist reception!---
Payton Schwiebert is just your typical average ghoul next door. He is a mad artist who recreates beautiful things and is not afraid to wear his battered heart on his sleeves.
He has been using art as his primary language since he was little.
A graduate of Kirkwood Community College with an Associate of Arts degree and the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
His philosophy is that not all art must be created with meaning. He sometimes follows the words of Victor Cousin “Making art for art’s sake.”
His work has been inspired by self-identity and expression. As a queer artist and member of the LGBTQ+ community, his drawings illustrate how it feels to be considered undesirable by the straight majority. His work expresses life as your true self by exposing emotions society deems inappropriate.
His wish is that one day his art will be used to promote LGBTQ+ rights and empower the queer community to be their true selves.
