Homeless advocates, camp residents, service providers, and community organizers will gather for a press conference at City Hall (1 Public Square Park) to speak out against the closing of the camp beneath the Jefferson Street Bridge and to stand in solidarity against unjust evictions. We'd love for you to join us for your lunch hour! June 1st is also the day for the public hearing around Nashville’s budget, and advocates will be asking city officials to invest in community goods like affordable housing, education, health care, transportation, and other social services and to divest from systems of policing and criminalization.
